Tata Motors is gearing up to strengthen its electric vehicle portfolio in India in 2026. The company is expected to introduce three new EVs that will cater to different types of buyers, from budget-conscious city users to families and premium car enthusiasts. The upcoming lineup is likely to include the Tata Sierra EV, Tata Tiago EV Facelift, and Tata Avinya EV

These new electric cars are expected to come with bigger battery packs, improved driving range, modern features, and more practical designs, making them some of the most awaited launches in the Indian EV space.

1. Tata Sierra EV

The Tata Sierra EV is expected to arrive in the second quarter of 2026, between April and June. This all-electric SUV will be positioned between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV in Tata’s lineup.

The Sierra EV is likely to be built on Tata’s Acti.EV+ platform and may be offered with both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations. It is also expected to come with multiple battery pack options.

The larger 65 kWh battery pack could deliver a driving range of over 500 km on a single charge. Tata may also equip the SUV with advanced functions like Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging. With its spacious cabin and family-friendly design, the Sierra EV could become a strong option in the midsize electric SUV segment.

2. Tata Tiago EV Facelift

Tata is also expected to launch the Tiago EV facelift in the third quarter of 2026, likely ahead of the festive season. As Tata’s most affordable electric car, the Tiago EV has already gained popularity among urban buyers, and the facelifted version aims to make it even more appealing.

The updated model is expected to feature a revised front design, new headlamps, refreshed bumpers, and redesigned alloy wheels. While cabin changes may be minimal, Tata could introduce larger battery pack options to improve practicality and range.

At present, the Tiago EV is available with 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery packs, offering a claimed range of 223 km and 293 km, respectively. With these updates, the facelifted Tiago EV may continue to attract city drivers looking for an affordable and efficient electric hatchback.

3. Tata Avinya EV

The Tata Avinya EV is expected to debut by the end of 2026 as a premium electric sportback SUV. Tata first showcased the Avinya concept at the 2023 Auto Expo, followed by a near-production version, the Avinya X, last year.

This premium EV is expected to be based on Tata’s Gen 3 EV architecture along with Jaguar Land Rover’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA). The Avinya EV may offer multiple battery options, an all-wheel-drive setup, and a driving range of over 600 km on a full charge.

In terms of pricing, the Avinya EV could start at around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it is likely to rival premium EVs such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 in India.

Final Thoughts

With the launch of the Sierra EV, Tiago EV facelift, and Avinya EV, Tata Motors is expected to expand its presence across multiple electric vehicle segments in India. From a practical city hatchback to a family SUV and a premium long-range EV, Tata appears ready to offer something for almost every type of buyer in 2026.

Improved battery sizes, longer range, and modern technology are likely to make these upcoming Tata EVs worth waiting for
